headstand tucked

Apparatus/setup: floor

Description: Position where a tucked body is supported by flat hands and the front head. Because of the tucked position the weight rests to a greater extent on the hands than on the head. The bent legs make sure the centre of gravity stays lower to the ground whereby the position is kept more stable.

  • kopstand gehurkt (Nederlands)

From tucked sit the gymnast places his hands at shoulder width in front of him. He places the head behind the hands to form an equilateral triangle with the hands.

Push off using 1 leg to bring the pelvis above the head. Simultaniously the other leg is lifted bent off the ground. The supporting leg is brought up when and while the gymnast can keep a stable position.
